At Crit Fitness Training, your particular and individualized goals and needs are paramount.

I’m Chris Rickabaugh, and as your trainer, I vow to develop a personalized program for you only after careful consideration of that individual’s health, fitness, and personal goals. Those programs will change with you as your needs and goals change.

I want you to succeed, and learning about you and open communication are the best ways to ensure that happens.

Origin Story

I started working out at ten years of age. I wanted so badly to make my elementary school football team. If you made the team generally you wouldn't get picked on as much. I didn't make it that year, but I did learn that if you really wanted something you had to work for it. Not just physically, but mentally. Mean kids aside, it did feel nice to be more active. Over the years I've learned so much. Science has also come a long way since my preteen days. For so long I was known as the guy in my friend group to go to for training advice. I don't know why it took me all those years to get an actual certification to do this for a living, but hey, I got there in the end.

Why Crit Fitness Training?

The only interest I've had longer than working out is Dungeons and Dragons. A few years ago a friend suggested we try what he described as crit fit. If you rolled a critical success you could pick one person at the table to do ten pushups. If you rolled a critical failure, then you had to do ten pushups. It made things interesting. One night after game two of my friends approached me about competing in an obstacle course race. It sounded fun, and I could help my friends prepare properly. We formed a team and named it Critical Fit. Our team members had different strengths and weaknesses.

The point, I realized, is that regardless of fitness level, age, body type, medical conditions, or most any other factor, anyone can enhance their innate abilities.

Ultimately, I like helping people.

So, I set out to provide a safe, inclusive training experience for anyone who wishes to work towards any fitness goal.
